Any Dreams?

Saint Sister, Dublin, Ireland  [2021]

We wanted to examine the experience of feeling trapped. Trapped in a relationship, trapped in our houses and trapped in our minds. This video explores the patterns we move in, the safe places we seek and what we do to find escape.
BRIEF

“Any Dreams?” is the final song on Saint Sister’s album “Where I Should End” . The brief for this video was to create something that matched the mood and energy from the song while simultaneously expanding the visual world Algorithm and Saint Sister have created for the series of videos.

THE IDEA

We wanted to narrow our focus for this video by find a lush location that would provide us with loads of options while shooting. Bringing the production in doors would allow us to focus on our lighting set ups and the girl’s performances. We saw this video as a half way point between Karaoke Song & Oh My God Oh Canada.

RESULT

The video is set in the amazing 60s/70s themed home. Every single piece of art, decor and furniture is an original piece from the era. We loved the idea of using the house itself as a metaphor within the video. The video itself is shot from two different perspectives and a day to night timeline that meets itself halfway in the middle.
